SENSEI RON SALAZAR
Sensei Ron Salazar is regarded as one of the original pioneers of Amorosi's. Even as a child,
Sensei Salazar, a native of Peru, was fascinated by martial arts. It was not only the physical aspect that
fascinated him but the spiritual and philosophical aspects of the arts as well. In his quest to learn more,
young Salazar enrolled in various martial arts schools - none of them for very long. They neither satisfied
his inquisitive mind nor his desire for learning.
As Ron reached college age, he came to New York. Due to work responsibilities, Ron moved to New Jersey. Ron never
lost his love for the martial arts but this love had taken a different approach. While Ron felt he was not young
enough to pursue physical training in the martial arts, he continued to enrich his knowledge on different philosophies
and cultures related to martial arts.
In 1991, a karate school known as Amorosi's Ultimate Karate Center opened in Ron's hometown. Immediately Ron ran
home and brought his five-year-old daughter to the new dojo. He was convinced that this was the right place to learn
karate and registered his daughter. His love for karate was rekindled. Ron was so proud and pleased with her progress
that he decided to join his daughter in her training. The Salazars were quickly known for their incredible spirit and
determination. It wasn't long before both of Ron's sons were enrolled and working towards their Black Belts.
The Salazars became permanent fixtures at Amorosi's . There was always one of them leaving and another
one coming. Ron became very involved in the daily routines of the school and continually offered help and ideas to
improve the growth of the dojo. As a result of Ron's diligent training, dedication to the school, and exceptional
teaching ability, he achieved Sensei status. His daughter and oldest son are Second Degree Black Belts, while his
youngest son is a Black Belt.
Currently, Sensei Salazar holds a Third Degree Black Belt. He plays an integral part in the development of
AMMA and
is one of the most innovative thinkers in the AMMA organization.
SENSEI JARETT KONNER
Sensei Jarett Konner, a 4th Degree Black Belt started training at Amorosi's in 1992, when he
was fourteen years old. After only two weeks of training, he knew the martial arts were the right path for his life.
As a white belt, Konner tested himself by attending Kongeiko, a six-hour training session. After successfully completing
this physical and mental test, he knew he could achieve any goal he set his mind to. Konner immediately resolved to earn
the rank of Black Belt under Master Amorosi.
After training four times a week for one year, Konner achieved the Sempai (senior student) status. Following Master
Amorosis' footsteps, he competed in various tournaments throughout his years of training loving all aspects of
competition. Konner regularly competed in tournaments for kata, kumite, weapons and breaking and it was no surprise
he often defeated more experienced competition. Sensei Konner was also a leading member of the
AMMA demo team, which
would travel around performing and demonstrating the effectiveness and capabilities of
AMMA.
While at college, Konnor ran a satellite school for four years down in College Park Maryland. When he returned to New
Jersey, he tested for and was awarded Sensei status. Sensei Konner attributes much of his progress as a student to the
lessons he learned by teaching others. Teaching became his passion, rooted in his desire to help others.
He currently is the head instructor at the Roseland center where he teaches daily. He also trains daily with Master
Amorosi, and like all AMMA Sensei's, is tested weekly on all of AMMA's teaching procedures and policies in order to
keep his Sensei status.
SENSEI ANTHONY MARTINELLI
Thanks to his son, Sensei Anthony Martinelli joined AMMA after participating during a parent's month. It didn't take
long before he was hooked and was inspired enough to train five days a week. Due to his diligence, he earned sempai
status and his desire to teach led him to become a Deshi (Sensei in training), and ultimately he earned Sensei status.
Sensei Martinell personifies the AMMA spirit, as you will rarely if ever see him back peddle during competition. He is
also gifted when it comes to teaching children, especially those who are physically or mentally challenged. Some parents
travel over twenty miles to have him train their kids, seeing vast improvements under his patient and compassionate guidance.
Prior to AMMA he studied kyokushin kai from 1986 through 1991. He is currently a First Degree Black Belt, and trains
under Master Amorosi.
SENSEI
FRANK SCHILDINER
Sensei Frank
Schildiner, a Senior Probation Officer employed in Newark, NJ, studied Judo
as a child, achieving the rank of green belt. At the suggestion of his wife,
he gave AMMA a call and after one introduction lesson was completely hooked.
He began training four to five days a week and upon hitting Purple Belt was
made a Sempai (Assistant Instructor). While training for his Black Belt he
was a sparring partner to two of Team AMMA fighters and competed in
grappling competitions.
After
receiving his Black Belt he was made a Deshi (Sensei in Training). In June
2010 he was promoted to the status of Sensei, the first person to receive
this post in 10 years. Sensei Schildiner trains and teaches daily at our
Livingston facility.
ASSISTANT INSTRUCTORS

Dai-Sempai Justin George
Dai-Sempai Justin George started at AMMA in 1992 as a young boy. Originally, he "wanted to learn how to beat people up,"
but, while taking a break from karate, learned that martial arts are exactly the opposite. Justin achieved the rank of
Second Degree Black Belt. He became hooked on AMMA "because it was the only thing that came close to capturing the
realism and effectiveness of reality self-defense and combat". A member of Team AMMA, Dai-Sempai George competes in
kickboxing and grappling competitions.
When Dai-Sempai Alex Malyshev first started at AMMA, he trained twice a week, but soon fell in love with the system and
upped his schedule to five days a week. Shortly after that he was invited to become a Sempai and began learning how
to train others as well as working towards his Black Belt.
Malyshev previously studied Judo in Israel, achieving the rank of Orange belt, but due to his move to the U.S. had
to start over again. He was introduced to AMMA by a friend who was a currently a member. "I have yet to find a system
that could match AMMA in its street effectiveness and versatility, the true greatness of the
AMMA system." He fulfilled
his goal of achieving Black Belt, and began assisting teaching on a daily basis. As a member of Team
Amorosi, Dai-Sempai Malyshev
competes in kick boxing and grappling competitions.
